2025-2026 IMPORTANT DATES
2025-2026 HYBRID AUDITIONS:
Auditions for the 2025-2026 UT Spartan Scarlet auditions will include three sections: an introduction, execution of a variety of skills and choreography in a variety of styles. You should create individual videos and edit them together to have one (1) video as your audition submission. There is a $30 audition fee. Venmo @utspartanscarlets and mention dancer’s name in comment ***As a primarily student run organization with minimal funding from the university, these proceeds will help benefit the 25-26 season.
Audition submission material will go live on this page on April 1, 2025. Video submissions will be due by April 30, 2025 at 11:59pm. Team announcements will be made on May 10, 2025 for the 25-26 season! Dancers eligible to audition must be Fall or Spring accepted students.
Section 1: You will include a brief introduction stating your name, your hometown, anticipated major, why you want to be a Scarlet, and a fun fact! This should be a minimum of thirty (30) seconds.
Section 2: It’s important that every dancer on the UT Dance Team has an elite fundamental background. The following skills should be executed. These skills are what we like to see from each incoming dancer and should be demonstrated to the best of your ability.

Once you have completed all sections, you will put all video clips together to create and submit one (1) video. This video should be a clickable YouTube link. You may choose to upload as either a “Public” or “Unlisted” video. The Scarlets Coaching Staff and judges will not be able to view your video submission if you select “Private.”
Additionally, you must fill out the audition application form found (here). This form will prompt you to fill out basic information, ensure you are including all necessary materials in your audition email. Your email should include the following:
Our audition submission deadline is April 30th at 11:59pm. Dancers will be notified via email if they been accepted by May 10th. There will be no on site obligations during the summer months however material may be required to learn ahead of starting on campus practices in August/September. These details will be communicated via email.

- Right side triple pirouette (minimum)
- Right side quadruple pirouette or maximum rotations
- Left side double pirouette or maximum rotations
- Two (2) turn combinations that showcase advanced a la second turns:
- Combo 1: Must be at least two 8-counts and include reverse directionals
- Combo 2: Must be at least three 8-counts and include a float
- Right and Left Battements/leg extensions/sustained développé/tilt and penche arabesque
- Right and Left Jete, Center Leap, Calypso, Tilt Jump, Switch Arabesque, Turning Disc
- Single toe touch or double toe touch
- Additional flexibility feature (back, legs, etc)

- 540, butterfly, and/or switch tilt/leg grab turns
- Right side aerial
- Left side aerial
- Front aerial (one or both)
- Aerial twist
- Headspring
- Kip up
- Back handspring/back tuck
- Rubberband/headspring variations
- Suicides
- Handstand variations

- Dancers auditioning should film horizontal.
- Dancers auditioning should film in a space without distraction.
- Dancers are welcome to wear color dance attire if preferred with proper dance shoes per each style. Dancers should look presentable with hair neatly pulled back and stage makeup.
- The video should start with your introduction, followed by the required technical skills then choreography learned. You are welcome to overlay music however this is not required.
- Please upload your video to a public or unlisted YouTube link to share in your emailed submission. Email to [email protected] by 4/30 at 11:59pm.
